Freight Shipping — FAQ
What types of freight does Uwon Carriers ship?
We specialize in vehicle and automotive freight: cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, RVs, fleet vehicles, commercial vans, construction equipment, farm machinery, ATVs, boats, and classic cars. As an FMCSA-licensed broker, we work with a network of over 50,000 carriers to match your freight with the right equipment and route.
What is the difference between freight shipping and auto transport?
Auto transport typically refers to shipping standard passenger vehicles (cars, trucks, SUVs) on multi-car carriers. Freight shipping covers a broader category including commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, oversized loads, and specialty freight that may require flatbed, step-deck, lowboy, or enclosed trailers. Uwon Carriers handles both standard auto transport and specialized freight.
Can you ship oversized or overweight freight?
Yes. We arrange transport for oversized loads (over 8.5 feet wide, over 13.6 feet tall, over 80,000 lbs) that require special permits, pilot cars, and route surveys. Common examples include construction equipment, industrial machinery, modular homes, and large agricultural equipment. Quote required for oversized loads.
How much does freight shipping cost?
Vehicle freight shipping costs depend on weight, dimensions, distance, and equipment type. Standard car transport runs $299–$1,400 depending on distance. Heavy equipment and oversized freight is quoted individually based on dimensions, weight, and route. LTL partial loads are more economical than dedicated FTL for 1–4 vehicles.
Do you offer LTL (less-than-truckload) vehicle shipping?
Yes. LTL auto transport is ideal when you need to move 1–3 vehicles and want to minimize cost by sharing trailer space. We match your vehicles with other loads heading in the same direction, which reduces your per-unit cost significantly compared to a dedicated carrier.
Can you ship commercial freight cross-country?
Yes. We arrange nationwide freight shipping for automotive and commercial vehicle cargo across all 50 states. Coast-to-coast freight transit typically takes 7–10 days for standard loads and 4–6 days for expedited freight.
Are you licensed for freight brokering?
Yes. Uwon Carriers LLC holds active FMCSA broker authority under DOT #4445336 and MC authority. We are licensed and bonded for freight brokerage under federal regulations. You can verify our authority at safer.fmcsa.dot.gov.
Can you ship a car as freight on a flatbed?
In some cases, yes — particularly for non-running vehicles, oversized vehicles, or specialty equipment where a standard multi-car carrier is not suitable. Flatbed transport is quoted individually based on the vehicle and route.
